Music Therapy is the clinical use of music as administered by a Board-Certified Music Therapist to address the nonmusical goals of an individual.

Music Therapy can be utilized to address physical, psychological, cognitive, behavioral, and/or social functioning through the use of specifically designed music interventions.

Music has the unique ability to be accessible by anybody regardless of age, location, or diagnosis. As a clinical service, Music Therapy can be used in individual or group settings, depending on the needs of the persons involved.

Music therapy can address the following skills:

  • Motor functioning

ASSESS AND SET GOALS

At the start of treatment, the client’s strengths and needs are assessed. Music Therapy goals are then set to meet the client at his/her level.
