About Music To Grow On
Music To Grow On is an established organization with over 25 years of experience dedicated to transforming lives through music therapy. We partner with more than 20 school districts, providing services to over 100 students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Additionally, we offer direct services to over 100 individuals and facilitate more than 65 groups across educational, mental health, and long-term care facilities. Due to increasing demand and a substantial waiting list, we are seeking to hire multiple Board-Certified Music Therapists to join our expanding team.

Job Details

Diverse Caseload: Engage in both individual and group music therapy sessions within a variety of settings,including school districts (IEP services), long-term care, mental health facilities, community programs, and private pay clients.

💼 Position Responsibilities:
– Provide professional music therapy services tailored to the unique needs of each client.
– Maintain accurate and timely documentation and actively participate in team meetings.
– Serve as an advocate for music therapy within interdisciplinary teams.
✅ What We’re Looking For:
– Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) credential required.
– Bachelor’s degree or higher in Music Therapy
– Exceptional time management and organizational skills
– Self-starter who thrives independently, yet values team collaboration

Minimum Requirements
- Board Certified Music Therapist (Must hold MT-BC credential)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent documentation and goal writing skills
- Ability to be flexible and operate in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in basic counseling/verbal processing skills
- Promote a positive and energetic group environment
- Experience building strong therapeutic relationships with clients
- Experience working in a group therapeutic setting preferred
- Experience working with neurodivergent individuals preferred
- Knowledge of Individual Education Plan processes, developmental milestones, and of the assessment process and progress notes
- Work well independently but also a good team player
- Strong communication skills
- Self-motivated, possessing grit and integrity
- Strong clinical musicianship skills – excellent rhythmic skills, comfortable with improvisation and songwriting, and using a variety of repertoire
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance and the ability to travel to multiple locations
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- TB/PPD screening required upon hire
- Technical skills: Google Drive / Workspace applications
- Physical Requirements: carrying equipment, sight, mobility, sitting/standing
